Washburn RB, and current Gopher commit, Jeff Jones
Jeff Jones – RB, 6-0, 194 pounds, Washburn (Minneapolis, MN)
Recruiting Update: Jeff recently performed well at the Chicago NFTC event, and earned himself an invite to The Opening. The Opening is a combine event held in Oregon at the Nike World Headquarters. The event includes the nation’s top 150 athletes, as selected by Student Sports. The Gophers top ranked commit is sure to pick up a ton of attention the end of June. Jeff also plans on attending Sound Mind Sound Body camp in Detroit the middle of June.
Gaelin Elmore – TE, 6-5, 238 pounds, Somerset (Somerset, WI)
Recruiting Update: Elmore recently picked up offers from Indiana and Michigan State in the last week. He says he is planning on making unofficial visits to 6 schools in the coming weeks. Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa State, and Oregon are all on the list of scheduled visits for the 3-star TE from just across the river.
Frank Ragnow – OT, 6-5, 296 pounds, Chanhassen (Chanhassen, MN)
Recruiting Update: Frank recently added offers from Illinois and Cal in the last week. Gophers offensive coordinator stopped by his last two track meets, the most recent one at Chanhassen HS Frank placed first in the shot put, with a throw of 50-feet-7.5 inches.
Andrew Stelter – SDE, 6-4, 247 pounds, Owatonna (Owatonna, MN)
Recruiting Update: Stelter was able to make his first combine event of the spring when he attended the Chicago NFTC event. Andrew finished with a Sparq rating of 84.18. Most recently the 3-star DE has added offers from Duke and Northern Illinois. The next couple months Andrew expects to focus more on recruiting with Track season finishing soon.
East Ridge Center JC Hassenauer
JC Hassenauer – C, 6-2, 290 pounds, East Ridge (Woodbury, MN)
Recruiting Update: JC continues to perform extremely well at Midwest combines, especially in 1-on-1’s. Hassenauer also expects to make the trip to Detroit for the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in June. Indiana coaches made the stop at East Ridge when in town last week to see the 3-star Center. Today, JC is taking an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt.
George Behr – TE, 6-5, 235 pounds, East Ridge (Woodbury, MN)
Recruiting Update: Behr picked up his first big offer yesterday, from future B1G opponent Rutgers. Behr also received a visit last week from Indiana.
Tim Gordon – DB, 5-11, 170 pounds, Cretin-Derham Hall (St Paul, MN)
Recruiting Update: Gordon has seen his recruitment start to pickup, receiving visits from a handful of schools as of late. Northwestern, Michigan State, USF and Pitt stopped by two weeks ago; while Cal, NDSU, SDSU, Army, Northern Illinois, and Indiana have stopped in the last week to see the top CB in the state of Minnesota.
Greg Menard – OLB/DE, 6-1.5, 218 pounds, Lakeville North (Lakeville, MN)
Recruiting Update: Menard recently received his 6th offer from Illinois State this last week. Greg also was able to make the Chicago NFTC event two weeks ago, posting a shuttle time of 4.47. Greg worked out as a DE in Chicago to show off his pass rush abilities.
Cretin-Derham Hall QB Ricardo Johnson III
Ricardo Johnson III – QB, 6-1, 178 pounds, Cretin-Derham Hall (St Paul, MN)
Recruiting Update: Ricardo saw visits from Michigan State and Army two weeks ago, and more recently Yale visited. Coach Strickland at Wisconsin has a scheduled visit to Cretin this next week, then Ricardo plans to hit the road for a couple unofficial visit. The first weekend in June Johnson III will be heading to the sunshine state for a visit to USF, FIU and FAU. The following weekend in June Ricardo plans to head to Dallas for a visit to SMU.
Raymonte Maynard – RB, 5-9, 201 pounds, Washburn (Minneapolis, MN)
Recruiting Update: Maynard has recently received visits from Iowa State, North Dakota St, South Dakota St and Indiana. He says that Kent State, Western Michigan and Eastern Illinois have also started showing interest as of late. Maynard is another local athlete that made the trip to Chicago for the NFTC event two weeks ago, where he posted a shuttle time of 4.73.
Preston Woods – DT, 6-1.5, 294 pounds, So. St. Paul (So. St. Paul, MN)
Recruiting Update: Preston has seen his recruitment pick up in the last week. With coaching visits from Indiana, Stanford, Iowa and Northern Illinois, as well as a stop by Minnesota OC Matt Limegrover. Indiana told his head coach that an offer might be close behind. Woods was also in Chicago two weeks ago, and posted a shuttle time of 4.64.
Zach Hovey – TE, 6-5, 230 pounds, Eden Prairie (Eden Prairie, MN)
Recruiting Update: Hovey received a visit from Air Force just over two weeks ago. Northern Illinois and Indiana also made a stop by Eden Prairie to see the local TE in the last week.
Totino-Grace FB Kai Barber
Kai Barber – FB, 5-10, 220 pounds, Totino-Grace (Minneapolis, MN)
Recruiting Update: Barber also attended the NFTC event in Chicago two weeks ago. On the way, he made a stop at Northern Illinois for an unofficial visit. Barber says he is hearing a lot from Illinois State, North Dakota State, Iowa State and Northern Illinois.
Connor Wilkie – QB, 6-5, 205 pounds, Andover (Andover, MN)
Recruiting Update: Wilkie has recently received visits from Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois and North Dakota State in the last week. He says all three visits went very well, and expects to keep hearing from these three schools.
Austin Noble – OT, 6-4, 260, Cannon Falls (Cannon Falls, MN)
Recruiting Update: Austin has once offer from South Dakota State, but says he has recently been hearing a lot from NDSU and Princeton.
Jacques Perra – QB, 6-3, 200 pounds, Roseville (Roseville, MN)
Recruiting Update: Perra has been busy with a lot of coaches stopping by in the last week. Gophers OC Matt Limegrover stopped last Friday to see the local QB. Northern Iowa stopped by last week as well, and told Perra’s head coach they are very close to offering. NDSU, SDSU and UND have also paid a visit in the last week. Perra says he also keeps in regular contact with Iowa State.
